Biden’s “dementia”

He’s doing it on purpose. When Biden makes a “gaffe,” this leads to discussion of “what he really meant,” keeping the statement in the news for a while until he or his staff issues a correction. Since these statements aren’t affecting his popularity (it’s been in the low 50s continuously), he’s going to keep doing it. His apparent “dementia” is definitely scripted.

Nobody's going to purposefully act like they have dementia.

I am assuming this is in jest.

I believe you are just seeing how his handlers are dealing with his dementia as they guide him through his Presidency.
@SumKindaMunster Not all of his gaffes are scripted, but some definitely are. Like the one accusing Facebook of “killing people.” They waited a few days to correct that one, which made Facebook’s failure to curb anti-vax conspiracy theories more of an issue.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@LeopoldBloom You really think that was scripted? Why? It looks like he just made an off the cuff remark, then walked off.

It's a pretty big risk letting him go out and say stuff like this, this came back to haunt him, and he needed to walk it back, so I don't see how his handlers, considering his history of "gaffes" would risk letting him go out and say whatever he wants.
@SumKindaMunster It’s not “haunting” him. It appears to have no effect on his popularity, and can be employed strategically as a scripted statement. He gets away with these gaffes, so why not use them deliberately?
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@LeopoldBloom Well if it wasn't a problem, why did he have to walk it back?

"Popularity" is but one metric on this.

How about when he almost blew the infrastructure deal with similar off the cuff remarks? You think that was scripted?
@SumKindaMunster Again, it’s a strategy to get these issues in the news. Now people are talking about how Facebook isn’t limiting vaccine conspiracy theories as effectively as Twitter, which just suspended Marjorie Traitor Greene for spreading false information. So Biden exaggerates the situation, then walks it back a few days later.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@LeopoldBloom I dunno man, that seems to be some magical thinking right there. His stuttering, off the cuff, awkward gaffes are deliberate? He's a hell of an actor then.
@SumKindaMunster Why does everything have to be all or nothing with you? Biden has made these kinds of gaffes throughout his career. All I'm suggesting is that a few of the recent well-timed ones might be scripted.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@LeopoldBloom All or nothing? I'm not saying it's an all or nothing thing. I'm saying you are fantasizing about something that isn't true.

Biden has dementia, no matter how the MSM spins it. I just hope his wife and handlers are acting in the best interests of the country.
@SumKindaMunster Even if Biden has dementia (which neither of us is qualified to diagnose) he’s still 1000x more lucid and professional than his predecessor.

@LeopoldBloom Here's a great article on Biden's obvious decline and almost textbook case of age related dementia.

Believe what you wish.

@SumKindaMunster He's always talked like that. What about this word salad?
“Look, having nuclear—my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart —you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I’m one of the smartest people anywhere in the world—it’s true!—but when you’re a conservative Republican they try—oh, do they do a number—that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune—you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged—but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me—it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are (nuclear is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what’s going to happen and he was right—who would have thought?), but when you look at what’s going on with the four prisoners—now it used to be three, now it’s four—but when it was three and even now, I would have said it’s all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years—but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us.”

Part of a campaign speech given by Donald Trump in July 2015
The difference is that Trump used to be a lot more coherent. But you don't want to acknowledge his obvious deterioration or ask what's causing it.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@LeopoldBloom
He's always talked like that
Oh bullshit. He's clearly declined noticeably in the last 5-6 years.

Send me a postcard from the state of denial, won't you? 😆
@SumKindaMunster Just like you refuse to acknowledge that Trump has obviously declined over the past few decades. Trump exhibits some symptoms of tertiary syphilis - lack of coordination, paranoia, and disordered thinking.

The difference is that Biden, like that senile old foof Reagan, is surrounded by very capable people. Trump on the other hand was surrounded by sycophants and grifters. He drove away the competent ones like Mattis and Tillerson early on because they refused to kiss his ass. Even if you're a conservative, I don't see how anyone capable of intelligent observation could ignore that.

@LeopoldBloom
The difference is that Biden, like that senile old foof Reagan, is surrounded by very capable people.
So wait, now you are agreeing Biden is senile? That's a pivot from just a couple of comments ago...

Cuz I totally agree, that's exactly what this Presidency reminds me of, Regan's 2nd term...
@SumKindaMunster No, I'm saying Reagan was senile. Biden is just fine.

Please explain why a garbled paragraph means Biden has dementia, but when Dolt 45 does it, it's not even worthy of notice.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@LeopoldBloom
Please explain why a garbled paragraph means Biden has dementia,
I dunno, maybe you should be more clear in your writing then. 🤷‍♂️
@SumKindaMunster Just can't confront the question, can you. The 11th Commandment: Thou shalt not question the sanity of Cheeto Benito.

Biden is as sane as he ever was. Trump has seriously deteriorated. If you don't care, at least admit it.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@LeopoldBloom That's because the subject of the discussion is your laughable assertion that Biden is faking his dementia symptoms.

You dragged Trump into it because of your horrible case of TDS. He's irrelevant to the discussion. You seem to believe this is going to upset me, but I believe that is just you projecting.
@SumKindaMunster Biden doesn't have dementia. However, because people like you think he does, he occasionally will say something to play into that false belief, that can be walked back later.

Many people think media giants like Facebook, Twitter, and Google aren't doing enough to curb anti-vaccine conspiracy propaganda. If Biden had said, "Big Tech needs to pay more attention to false information being propagated through them," everyone would have yawned. But if he says "Facebook is killing people," that gets more attention.

If you think every utterance from him is spontaneous, you're very naive.
