Is the US seriously considering making Muslim internment camps base on the model of Japanese Internment Camps of WW2?

Carl Higbie introduced this goal for a Trump presidency.

He is a Trump surrogate and the spokesperson for a super PAC.

He shared this with Megan Kelly's Fox News Show on Fox Network. She was visibly taken aback.

What have we learned from history?
George Takai of Star Trek called it one of our country's shame and that Ronald Reagan apologized to Japan for the incarceration of innocent people and bypassing the Justice Sustem of the Unoted States.

I wasn't really taking the "Whiting" of America seriously but this is embarrassing for our country.
This bypasses constitutional rights of citizens of the US?
How could this possibly be defended?

In Korematsu v. the United States, 1944, the Supreme Court, upheld the constitutionality of the camps due to "military necessity." But that same year, the court ruled in Ex parte Endo that those who'd proven their loyalty to the United States couldn't be detained.

The US apologized later, and paid restitution, in 1988, but the ruling holds.

The West Coast does not have to secede. This is my country. I love it, I served it. As far as Trump is concerned, it's not a monolithic issue, for all voters. I believe, it's not a monolithic issue, for most of his voters.

Even though the campaign monolith, consists of:

- Racism
- Sexism
- Xenophobia
- Misogyny
- Narcissism
- Violence
- Hate
- Denial of women's control over their bodies
- Petty politics
- Bullying
- White power
- Patriotism
- Islamophobia
- National security
- Economy
- Climate change denial
- etc...

The majority, voted on a tiny set of these issues.

We need to recognize the important issues, and address them. The factory worker at Carrier in Indiana, who's about to lose his or her job, due to a move to Mexico, is not wrong. That worker, is not informed, and does not really know, that Wall Street, and not NAFTA is behind their job loss, so Trump's program is NOT going to save those jobs, and canceling NAFTA will not do the job either.

The Carrier plant? Half the employees are women, half are black. A bunch are refugees who were resettled in the area. It's not surprising, that they voted for Trump. He targeted them, and he turn them, but he did not tell them the truth about the situation.

It's time to get involved, and recognize that some of them have a real ax to grind. We can insulate ourselves on the West Coast. Our economic problems, consist of competing for multi-$M homes, as opposed to trying to stay one step ahead of homelessness. Our mayors (Seattle, LA, SF, Portland), already said that the Feds will not enforce the laws that we disagree with, in our cities. The folks in Indiana, may not have a roof over their heads a year from now.

I have found that some of these simple "solutions" that Trump has devised are useless.

I see where you are coming from and, when I said the West coast would have a secession I was thinking more in terms if things got to the point that they started rounding up people and doing unthinkable and unacceptable things. I don't believe the West Coast would break away unless it got really really ugly. I do understand that the midwest in particular has been struggling economically and I do think more needs to be done to help our country pull out. I don't want my country to turn on each other, but talks of internment camps scare the shit out of me and I can't see how people wouldn't turn on each other over things like that.

@InfiniteBlue: I am not going to abandon my country, just because Trump, just pulled the biggest con job, in our nation's history. It's time to double down on our commitment as citizens, protest and opposed the unfair, and support the reasonable, even the hail Mary's. For better or for worse, we've got nowhere no go but here. We will continue to advocate, for what we think is right. No internment camps are going to happen in my country.

If you have not seen it, you should check out the Siege (1998, Denzell Washington).

@InfiniteBlue: I can easily see an "extreme" response to actions taken federally that totally redefine a citizen's rights and override the constitution.

@Northwest: I haven't seen the Siege but I will check into it. I like Denzel Washington. @Pfuzylogic: I truly hope it never gets that far for all of the people of this nation and our future generations. I hope that we as a nation chose a path of tolerance and inclusion.

@InfiniteBlue: We were so fortunate that he gladly took the initiative of being the leader of our country! I truly believe that everyone is going to miss him

@Pfuzylogic: The presidency in 2008, was a political suicide mission. He jumped in. Today, the federal reserve, said that, at the Macro level, the economy has righted itself, and now we don't need to do crazy stuff. For a recession of that magnitude, we may be looking at popping our heads above water, as opposed to the strong position we're in today, although were were not so good at narrowing the gap.

I shudder at the thought of a McCain/Palin presidency.

@Northwest: I found McCain to have a level of integrity when he refused to trash Obama's name. Palin frightened the hell out of me. I didn't find her that particularly intelligent.
The economy is much better but it took a hit on the deficit because of Bush's deregulated banking and housing loan derivatives.
