The West coast would have a secession and there would be war. I don't think they are stupid enough to attempt that.

110,000 Japanese were from California and relocated during WW2 and yes the vote there was heavy for Clinton.

The west is much more liberal and progressive than other parts of the country. Not during WW2 times the whole country was a bunch of racist twats. The economy of California is the largest in all the states and the sixth largest economy in the world so if they wanted to succeed from the rest of the country it could get bloody and costly. Oregon and Washington would follow and probably Idaho, Nevada.

@InfiniteBlue: I lived in California. I do know that Alaska and Texas always threatened to secede but for different reasons, Republican reasons. Vermont was going to secede because money was being spent for Defense and war.

I think it's logistically very hard to actually pull off, but I do believe that if the country starts moving rapidly in a more racist and Fascist line the west would seriously consider it a viable option.
