Do you think it's fair that in Australia if you have over 5 acres of land that you don't qualify for a pension?

I find it surprising. Pension should be dependant on your years of service and that alone? What you have done with your hard earned money, and how you have invested should be beyond the purview of the government as long as you pay the legal property tax or whatever is the appropriate tax.
