What I want to know is "Which Americans support actual Democracy as the future path of American government?" No conditions. No "Buts". Just the will of the people making a choice and let the chips fall where they may.
Most Americans want a Democracy and Republicans can't win Democratic elections without cheating. Even with cheating. So the republican party doesn't support a Democratic Country any longer.

@Pitchblue I see the Party's position. Hold onto power at any cost.. What I wanted was the SWeeps views. But.... Like the elections. A lot dont bother to get off their @$$e$ to vote. Kind of America in a nutshell..
@whowasthatmaskedman They believe all the fluff about the US being great and it will all work out but not if Republicans regain power again.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Pitchblue Thats a long argument for another day. The US is FUBAR now no matter who is steering the ship. Republican V Democrat is about who makes it into the lifeboats carrying how much treasure.
TexChik · F
Democracy based on the constitution with one law for all to follow. No more lib exceptions.
TexChik · F
@whowasthatmaskedman liberals don’t follow the law but accuse everyone else of breaking it .
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@TexChik Granted. Conservatives write the law, then have the money to hire lawyers to make sure it doesnt apply to them. Neither side have Halos here. However what we see lately is an open abuse of the process of lawmaking. And that is in the hands of the Conservatives, like MConnell.
I should be clear. I have no personal stake in how badly the US system deteriorates. I am not there. But it has become a farce to claim that it is a Goverment of the people, by the people, for the people. (Unless you are rich)
monte3 · 70-79, M
@TexChik k what are your “ lib exceptions”?
I hope this is not back to Trump’s election loss, Nd you still not accepting it. It is not democracy when the only result accepted is your siding..
I like it better than any of the alternatives, especially if you "cut" the sweetness a bit to make it more stable.
SW-User
I would like to have a democracy..
We are a plutocracy , with the pretty story of democracy.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@SW-User I agree. While other nations do have ruling families, America is the only one that screams Democracy and Freedom while doing it.
Many real "little" people do, me included

But mostly we are not heard much.

For politicians...umm...maybe Robert Kennedy Junior, environmental lawyer (not a politician though)

and many up and coming folks on the State level, I advise people to keep their eyes peeled THERE and talk about the good ones!
Hard to say if Americans want a Democracy or a Republic.
Jake966 · 56-60, M
We are a Constitutional Republic
Human1000 · 51-55, M
Yes. Not sure who would say no.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
America is still going strong. Regardless of who's president. 😊

Human1000 · 51-55, M
@whowasthatmaskedman Corruption…pure and simple.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Human1000 Absolutely.. And listening to Mitch McConnell speak he is proud to admit it now. He believes the end justifies the means.
