If Bernie Sanders had ran in Hillary's place, would he have beaten Donald Trump ?

That is what everybody keeps saying. But Bernie Sanders is a self confessed socialist. But he has put up some big crowd numbers, like Trump. And he had the youth vote in the palm of his hands. And yet he kept on uttering that socialist word. I don't like that, and Im a Liberal. What do you think SW.

well lets see his qualifications, he claims in his bio he was a homeless, worked in the welfare office signing people up and became senator,(he's accomplished so much there) actually flew to Russia to get married because he and his wife believe in socialism so much (go figure)..lied to the 20 something crowd promising the world then in the end stating he probably couldn't deliver folded when he found out he had been duped by the DNC, doesn't sound like someone I'd vote for

Thank you.

Not to beat my chest about Sanders, because he had flaws as a candidate, but you're off a bit in regards to his legislative record. His roll call amendments alone put him towards the top of effectiveness as a legislator.
He also didn't get married in Russia. He honeymooned in the Soviet Union as he tied it in to a work trip when he was a mayor.

@Ynotisay: do tell

@ajsk13: Super easy to find that info. Nothing secretive about it.

well I just looked it up ,it states he was the king from 95-2007 but for some reason it doesn't state what the amendments were..Boy he's been there a long time 325 bills with only three passed in How many years? definite candidate for term limits

@ajsk13: Well, you know, Independent.
Of course, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Rand Paul have combined to pass two bills they wrote in to law so...
At least Sanders did a little better than the Tea Party god Ron Paul. 1 for 620 sponsored bills and that one was regarding the sale of a custom made home in Texas.

Ron has pretty much been an outsider though, no one liked his proposals

@ajsk13: True Sort of like the Independent Sanders. It's hard to be on the "outside."
Outside of his roll call amendments he also excelled at inserting provisions in to bills prior to vote. Got some good stuff done.
