A Reminder To Those Who Do Not Seem To Be Aware Of It

Russia is currently involved in wars in two countries: Syria and Libya. When President Biden meets with Putin, Russia's involvement in both countries will be discussed, even though I believe it's mostly theatrics, because we've come to accept Russia's involvement in both countries, as an "enemy of my enemy" situation, as long as they're fighting Islamists.

In both countries, the focus will be on humanitarian relief efforts.

An important distinction you conveniently leave out is only one nation is there by invitation of the local government. And it is not the USA. But I guess if you are looking to make whataboutisms to justify US imperialisms such things as legality are the first thing to go out the window.

Apparently you're not aware that Assad does not meet the definition of legitimate. Or that this comment of yours is your typical Rebel Without A Clue knee jerk reaction, ignoring all the death and destruction Russia and its contractors are committing in Syria, and Lybia.
@Northwest Lol. I am sorry, I forgot "legitimate" according to folks like you requires a papal blessing from the POTUS.

This is probably going to shock you but international law doesn't require American approval.

This is going to shock you, but not everything fits neatly in your knee jerk reactions.
@Northwest I am sorry you think "knee jerk reaction" = international law and any facts you don't like.
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow You have a Freudian relationship with the United States.
@Human1000 No, I just don't look at empire with rose coloured glasses and blinding cheer for team 'Merica.
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow You view the US like a parent with whom you have unresolved anger issues.

Life does not fit neatly into your pre-recorded narratives. Assad and Russia violate international law every single moment, but you think it's OK, because Assad "invited" Russia? 🤣
@Northwest Which means you can't present a real argument.

And you are the one parroting a narrative regardless of the facts or the law.

Lol and as usual citation needed for your random claims about Russia and Syria.
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@Northwest He’s also a Maoist and a Stalinist so his support of Assad should not be shocking. Tulsi Gabbard anyone?
@Human1000 And more personal attacks instead of actual arguments. Scream "tankie" and run off instead of making a real argument.
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Correct in part. Personal yes, attack, no.
@Human1000 No, just personal attacks and insults. Not exactly a surprise though. No better than Horace Greeley or Sunsporter.
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow You can take it personally, but not my intent. Your seething hatred of the US can only be explained by your relationship with your father.

You cozying up with Mao, Stalin, and Assad also makes sense in this context.
@Human1000 And thanks for proving my point by reducing anyone who doesn't blindly cheerlead for US foreign policy into a cartoon.

What claims? That Russia is committing crimes against humanity in Syria every day? or that Assad is not the top in the Russia/Syria relationship?

Do you take yourself seriously when you ask for citations?
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@Northwest He doesn’t argue in good faith, but good luck.

Like I said, not everything fits neatly into your pre-recorded narratives. US foreign policy is not infallible, but it's not all about what narratives tell you.
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow No, not at all. I don’t think I’ve met someone who hated the US as much as you, and the only way to explain it is your relationship with your father.
@Northwest The claims that Russia is committing crimes against humanity in Syria everyday (and conveniently ignoring that US involvement at all is a war crime).

And I am going to assume that means you can't actually back anything up with anything other then Rachel Maddow says so.
Northwest · M
@Human1000 He's a rebel without a clue, but I am waiting to see if he's actually waiting for citations that Assad and the Russians continue to commit crimes against humanity in Syria.
@Northwest And who is the "top" in the relationship between Russia and Syria is completely irrelevant.
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@Northwest He will never criticize Russia. Only the US.
@Northwest Says the guy whose only course is MSNBC and White House Press Releases.
@Human1000
He will never criticize Russia. Only the US.
Whataboutisms don't magically change facts.
