Trump is ramping up again and making noise about conspiracies and taking back the White House...

As an ex-President, is he more or less powerful than when he was first campaigning?

I get the feeling that the way he is going, there are tons of defamation lawsuits headed his way. Democrats and establishment Republicans take him seriously enough to be driven to take him down at any cost now, and he no longer has the protection of the presidency or a friendly attorney general

why are you guys so obsessed with someone who isn't even an official anymore? what are you afraid of? i genuinely want to know? was a booming economy, and low unemployment, low amount of people on govt assistance that bad? lol i guess so for a bunch of people who never wanted to work

@DeluxedEdition GDP was up but that's a shit indicator of how the actual economy is actually doing.

Besides just the fact he was so divisive made him a terrible leader, regardless if he was doing good or bad things. That becomes exponentially worse when the person reveals in it as a source of pride.

@DeluxedEdition Trump's danger is in his severe mental illness and detachment from reality, combined with a rabid Cult who worship him and will do anything for him. And by the way, the economy wasn't booming when he left office. Trump was the only president in the last 80 years to lose jobs during his term. He took office with a 4.7% unemployment rate and left it with a 6.1% rate. And he took an annual deficit of $437 billion under Obama and had the two worst deficits in history--$1.7 trillion in 2019 and $3.3 trillion in 2020. The previous record was $1.3 trillion from the previous Republican/Bush Recession.

Uh, how many years did ya'll spend chanting "Lock her up!" when Hillary wasn't even doing anything? Meanwhile Trump is actively trying to subvert the rule of law and you're like "just ignore him".
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@OggggO NOT COMING FROM THE PEOPLE WITHOUT PROOF WHO WANT TO COMPLETELY DESTROY SOMEONES LIFE FOR "INSIGHTING A RIOT" 😭😭😭
OggggO · 36-40, M
@DeluxedEdition If you're going to lie, at least have the decency to do it better than that.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@DeluxedEdition The word is inciting, and yes, Trump, Giuliani, and others incited a riot, an insurrection to take down our democracy and replace it with Trump. It is all there on tape and indisputable. Each of the insurrectionists should be tracked down and charged and convicted.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@windinhishair that's why they found he wasn't guilty right? 🤭
OggggO · 36-40, M
@DeluxedEdition Who found he wasn't guilty? There hasn't been a trial yet.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@DeluxedEdition Trump hasn't been charged yet with inciting an insurrection, so he hasn't been proven not guilty. But you knew that, right?
losthorizons · 51-55, M
@DeluxedEdition exactly. Well said
MethDozer · M
@windinhishair You're never proven not guilty. A court and jury may find you not guilty, but it is never proven one is not guilty.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@MethDozer Exactly. In fact, you can still be guilty, just not proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
MethDozer · M
@windinhishair On the flip though you obsessed folks gives him a lot of his power and influence.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@MethDozer Not really. I would gladly ignore him, as I did prior to 2015, but he has a Cult of millions who have shown they worship him, believe every lie, and will do his bidding. It is like ignoring Islamic terrorists who are known to support violent jihad in the US, but haven't done it yet. You ignore them at your peril.
MethDozer · M
@windinhishair Oh yes really.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@MethDozer You can choose to ignore a clear threat to the nation. That is your prerogative.
MethDozer · M
@windinhishair Okie dokie.

You can obsess and make a demagogue of the symptom instead of seeing the bigger picture and how it is all our fault, and not just the fault of the few as well.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@MethDozer I didn't say a thing about blame. Trump is a symptom of a bigger problem, but the problem still exists in a YUGE way.
MethDozer · M
@windinhishair just saying. Y'all obsessors give him so much power. He's out, move on.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@MethDozer When he is dead or imprisoned and is no longer a threat to the nation.
MethDozer · M
@windinhishair Obsessed
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@MethDozer Just diligent. Nothing more or less.
