We can laugh but it it kind of is a final victory for capitalism and for the right wing.
The understanding of politics that this comes from (the frame) is about the culture war and not economics or class power. It can only exist in a world where a capitalist world view is dominant, culturally and politically - to the point where its not even questioned. Liberal capitalism vrs Right wing capitalism. The values of the tech industry vrs the agenda of big oil. You can even see it from the donors to the two American parties.
Its seemingly ironic that the right conspiracy theorists use some language and analysis (unwittingly) taken from the radical left. 'The deep state,' 'globalism' etc. This is not good for the left though, it just shows that the populist resistance to neo liberalism has been colonised by a far right agenda.
So George Soros becomes the problem, not because he is a capitalist or because of a system producing economic inequality but because he is Jewish and has liberal politics.
It is kind funny that a lot of people think this way but it's also really bad.
