But if there weren't people who support them, and what they stand for, they wouldn't exist. I'll never understand the more "rational" GOP going all in with extremists. They must think they're easier to control and manipulate.

The only reason that happened is that the Republicans knew they could no longer win due the the split in their own party with the Tea Party twits and Extremists taking away a large percentage of their former voters. So they made a deal with the Devil (tRump) in order to regain power. The real Republicans knew exactly what they were doing but they didn't want Hillary to win so this is how they proceeded and are now stuck with their decision and will pay for it until tRump is gone or the Extremists take control of the Party...
