Is Isreal simply protecting themselves

Israel is targeting the people of Gaza, apartment buildings, the media. The death count is 20 to 1. If you were punched in the face would it be fair to kill 5 people. Are the Palestinians caught in the middle of Hamas and Israel.

Israel gives WARNINGS to the people in Gaza.
Hamas, being the total dick-wipes they are, shoots from and stores weapons in those apartment buildings, schools and hospitals.
Hamas is the lowest form of life on Earth.
Palestinians would do well to help destroy Hamas.

If Israel were an anti-western country, doing exactly what it is doing now with Hamas, and if Hamas were a pro-western insurgency, the lefties here would be screaming bloody murder about what those fascistic Hamas tools of western imperialism were doing.
