This is an issue so steeped in history, religion and political strife that anyone even pretending to clearly see all angles or have a solution based on analysis of the situation is a fool. This matter isn't for the citizens of the US who don't have ties to the area.

@Graylight Don't have ties to the area? The Zionist movement is bankrolled almost entirely by American evangelicals. They even brag about it.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I understand this, and there are reasons I don't work in diplomatic politics. I don't feel money should be driving decisions that affect some cultures. But such is not the way of the world.

@Graylight Agreed. Part of my family is from Ireland and most of the guns and money for the "Troubles" came from Boston from people who had only seen Ireland on a postcard.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Me, too. And it's years of well-intentioned but uninformed actions on the part of others that have helped prolong the issues in the past with Ireland. I have to imagine it goes on all around the world, including Israel in Palestine.

@Graylight Yeah. My best friend is from what used to be Yugoslavia and 25 years later most Americans still have no idea what a Serb is.
