Can someone explain Trump's slogan to me?

First of all, this is a genuine question, not just an excuse to rant at anyone who supports Trump. His supporters are entitled to their views...but would anyone please be willing to help me understand them?

First: Can someone please explain to me what people mean by "make America great again?" I mean, sure America has its problems, but it seems to me that compared to the rest of the world, America is still pretty great. So what exactly is it that makes Trump feel America isn't great?

2nd: When Trump says he's going to make America great AGAIN, to what point in history is he referring? When does he think America was great, and what about that time made it so much better than he thinks it is now?

you are asking the impossible. there is no rational reason to vote for trump. only fear, ignorance, racism, bigotry, lies, and self delusion are the reasons. if you try to understand their thinking you will go insane.

Three marriages numerous bankruptcies fried money laundering collusion with Russia lying daily failed presidency can’t get any legislation done constant humiliation belittling other people less powerful than himself thousands of lawsuits from people he didn’t pay and now criminal indictment.
