Can someone explain Trump's slogan to me?

First of all, this is a genuine question, not just an excuse to rant at anyone who supports Trump. His supporters are entitled to their views...but would anyone please be willing to help me understand them?

First: Can someone please explain to me what people mean by "make America great again?" I mean, sure America has its problems, but it seems to me that compared to the rest of the world, America is still pretty great. So what exactly is it that makes Trump feel America isn't great?

2nd: When Trump says he's going to make America great AGAIN, to what point in history is he referring? When does he think America was great, and what about that time made it so much better than he thinks it is now?

Hello again CrazyTheatreGal 26-30, F. Trump has won the presidency with a catchy slogan that appealed to some disillusioned voters, the ones who still bothered to vote. Most disillusioned voters in the US simply don't bother to vote at all. He has yet to win the minds of Congress. He advised Congress to support Israel's plans to continue establishing new settlements on the West Bank at the UN. The Israeli government reached out to President-elect Donald Trump for help in pressuring the Obama administration to veto a UN Security Council resolution condemning settlement activity. In the past the US has always voted in support of Israel at the UN, but most recently the US abstained from the vote following Obama's directive to respect the two state settlement. Israeli settlement building is widely considered illegal under international law.

@will999: Yeah but it's not - it's their land, and there is not reason to share with a hateful ideology that seeks their destruction... something for which they are not even remotely responsible.
... President Trump was elected because the elites in both parties have failed the American people.
