President Trump had our total Withdrawal from Afghanistan scheduled for today, May 1st, 2021.

Why did the SwampFox push that back to September 1st?

Nobody really knows why wars are so hard to end. We understand that it's because the military gets such a big say and the voters don't count, but we fail to change it.

It's September 11, and Orange Man had no fucking clue. It takes that long to safely withdraw, following 20 years of war.
I'm sick of being over there.
C'mon, tell the whole story here: Trump originally announced, on Oct 7 2020, that the US would withdraw from Afghanistan by Christmas of that year. This shocking message caught our military flatfooted, because Trump had not consulted them, and there was no way it could be done on that timescale.

Biden talked to the generals, agreed on a rational timescale for withdrawal, and then announced it. That's called leadership.
