Jesus did not preach hardcore liberal—or conservative—policies. The most/only political thing He said was to “give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar”—in other words, pay your taxes and stay at peace with the government. He also said that His kingdom is not of this world.
He never said a thing about “universal health care,” and loving your neighbor has nothing to do with politics.
Jesus was apolitical. You can be a Christian Republican, a Christian Democrat, or anything in between. The important thing is that you *CAN’T* make politics your #1 motivator in life. That would be idolatry.
