They're just being what we used to call "contrary."

If democrats respected science they wouldn't blame everything on systemic racism and try to argue that a vaccine created in 7 months is scientific, or say "trust the experts" instead of looking at the science. The experts at one time said smoking is fine. Also democrats often say "the science is settled" nobody who understands science would ever say that.
