lol. and, of course, the libs are having a meltdown.
@boudinMan ? About a Pres. actually working to get the pandemic under control by letting scientists/doctors/experts do their job, and helping where he can?

Yeah...I know it's unfamiliar territory for Trump supporters, but this is what government is SUPPOSED to do: help us *all*.

@SomeMichGuy seriously? Who got the vaccine rolling? How is Biden helping? Mandates? How’s that working out? How’s all that transportation working out? Gas at a cost of nearly double what it was with Trump, having to buy oil from oil producing countries when before he took office we were independent and selling oil. What good is he doing? He has one of the lowest approval rates of any president
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@SomeMichGuy yeah and all of this 'help' the brain dead president has done has resulted in more covid deaths this year than last. good job, brandon!

@SomeMichGuy the omicron variant... you mean the one sleepy joe said no one saw coming? yeah, viruses don't mutate. they stay the same... forever. and yes, the vaccine is plentiful and was available in record time thanks to trump. there's no denying it... you just have to accept that, but of course you won't.

and didn't old joe say he was gonna end the pandemic? (not even close.) and didn't he say he would make rapid testing available? have you tried to get a test recently? i have... it's anything but rapid. you can't get a home test kit because they aren't available. you CAN get tested at a drive thru, but you'll have to wait in line for 3-4 hours, then wait a couple of days for the results. Or, you can schedule a test at CVS or Walgreen's, but it'll take a week or longer.

it's called incompetence... the government is too slow to react quickly to these things and yet dims want more government. (in spite of the fact that dumbo joe recently said there was no federal solution to ending the pandemic. yeah, that didn't sit too well with all the lefties, did it?)

great job.
the omicron variant... you mean the one sleepy joe said no one saw coming? yeah, viruses don't mutate. they stay the same... forever.
The opportunity to mutate is greatly enhanced by the huge number of unvaccinated people. I don't think that there was an understanding of how many stupid people there are who would choose to help the virus change.

If you knew that this variant would appear when it did, then you should have published long ago and described it so you could be our virology savant.
and yes, the vaccine is plentiful and was available in record time thanks to trump. there's no denying it... you just have to accept that, but of course you won't.
LOL F the orange clown, in response to your brandon bull

At least the orange fool did not stand in the way of allowing side-by-side testing (the "phases" of std drug tests), true.

But the REAL speed in creating the incredibly-effective genetically-based vaccines was due to the *years* of work put into genetic analysis, etc., and the TRUE heroes are whoever decided that the mRNA should describe the "corona" of spikes (someone will get a Nobel Prize out of this).
and didn't old joe say he was gonna end the pandemic? (not even close.)
He & his administration have told the country the facts, and have made the vaccine available, even plentiful, and distributed it. Pres. Biden has taken it seriously, and asked Americans to do so, too.

America let itself down by not stepping up to his challenge last year, prob. due to the huge amount of misinformation.

It's sad that we have the vaccine available and people still let the virus have more tinder...

So it is not his problem if the horses have been led to healthy water, but some are too foolish to drink.

Had the orange clown been honest from the get-go--and esp. if he had not tried to claim he was some sort of virology genius, like he claimed with so many areas in which he had no background, no knowledge, and just bizarre "opinions"--we'd be in a very different place.
and didn't he say he would make rapid testing available? have you tried to get a test recently? i have... it's anything but rapid.
I think he said he'd make testing widely available.

Yes, I was tested last year, quickly and also PCR, got results even from the latter in about a day. I had a PCR test just before Christmas and had no problem doing it at a local drive-through site, got the results in 2 days, and got another test last week (PCR, again) and got my results in under a day.

The non-PCR tests, from what I've heard/read recently, are still not nearly as accurate as the PCR tests, so it makes sense to try to speed up processing of PCR tests until some "rapid" test(s) is/are much more accurate. (The alternative is to have a rapid test which actually performs, say 3 of the rapid tests, so you have a better idea of the actual status of the tested person.)
you can't get a home test kit because they aren't available.
Odd, because they are being handed out in some places.
it's called incompetence...
Trump was the guy who admitted that he lied about the seriousness of CoViD. We'd ALL be better off if he had just told us all the truth, but of course you can't see how his lying about THAT helped give us the 30-some percent of hardcore anti-vaccine fools.

That is malfeasance, and a breaking of his oath of office.

Deal with it.
the government is too slow to react quickly to these things
Trump left office without any real vaccine distribution plans, and he NEVER fixedthe PPE problem.

He had all kinds of time and help which could have been utilized to be ready to get vaccines actually into arms.

He failed at a very simple task. I guess logistics is just too unglamorous for him.
and yet dims want more government.
Yet you follow a fool who demonstrated malfeasance...and you need to use ad hominems against all against the previous "President"...riiight.
(in spite of the fact that dumbo joe recently said there was no federal solution to ending the pandemic. yeah, that didn't sit too well with all the lefties, did it?)
Biden's team has done the "last mile" job of making the vaccine available widely. Without coercive power, there is no Federal solution, which is obvious...and also why mandates which are clearly under Presidential authority have been made.

Odd that Republicans want action from the Chief Executive, but don't want THIS Chief Executive to actually take the required actions. Of course, they don't have the backbone to call out Trump for his lies, so sniping at his successor--who actually DID get the vaccines to people--seems like the thing, rather than rejoicing in how many arms got "Trump's" vaccine.
great job.
Yes, a much better one than his predecessor.

@SomeMichGuy i see you can't quite bring yourself to admit that sleepy joe's minions are asleep at the wheel. if there's one thing you can count on with this virus, it's that it will mutate. you don't have to be a virologist to know that.

you guys keep harping on the accusation that it's all the fault of the unvaccinated, but the people getting omicron are mostly vaccinated people, like me. i got it and there were no -- absolutely no -- home test kits available in my area (there still aren't) and long wait times to get tested. that's on joe whether you like it or not. your guy is in charge, so any problems with testing, etc. are on him. put on your big boy pants and deal with it.

speaking of those true heroes of the mRNA vaccine you mentioned... robert malone is one of them and he was recently banned from twitter for warning of the dangers of the vaccine, particularly in children. i'm sure you support the silencing of opinions from well respected virologists, too.

good job.
@boudinMan

I am not pleased with the speed of everything which Biden has done, but you simply have your facts wrong in several crucial areas.

• Mutation. Yes, viruses can mutate...if you give them chances to reproduce. The more chances, the more chances for new variants.

Being unvaccinated gives a person a preferentially greater risk of getting it, having be a worse case (meaning more virus, so more chances for mutation), and of dying from it.

Getting a much higher percentage of people fully vaccinated will greatly help us return to much more normal...because it will help us all to not be as able to help the virus mutate.

(Yes, we need to vaccinate the world. That's a pandemic.)

• Who is getting Omicron.
but the people getting omicron are mostly vaccinated people
Unless you are in a very highly vaccinated population, unlikely.

More to the ultimate point, more than 95% of the new CoViD cases going into the hospitals are in unvaccinated.

• What getting CoViD after being vaccinated means.

Getting CoViD after being vaccinated is a measure of how many infected persons/carriers the newly-infected person was exposed to. It is a probablistic thing which is definitely made better by such incredibly effective vaccines, but it is like flipping an unfair coin. Even with a 95%-effective vaccine, your chance drops below 50% with exposure to 14 infected persons.

• Who Robert Malone is. He is definitely an early part of the mRNA story, but he does not appear to be anywhere near the group of whom I wrote.

He has helped push ivermectin, so...yeah.

What was it you said? Oh, yeah, "put on your big boy pants" and think for yourself. Joe Rogan is not a source for serious information.

And, sadly, some scientists also "go off the deep end", and this virologist seems similar. Odd that, like many in his camp, he sees Fascism, but can't see that it is on his side.

(Oh, and his oddball antics have removed him from the list of "well-respected virologists", though his early work was definitely part of the series of steps to get to where the technology was workable.)

Regarding home test kits, unless they are reasonably accurate, they may not be worth much. But the testing problem has really hit us with Omicron, and I think the administration is trying to help with this. I wish we had more testing, and more accurate home testing, and I understand that we need leadership which is responsive and also working to try to head off problems. I am sure Biden et al. need to take some blame, but people sitting on the sidelines need to take their fair share in getting us here.
