Explain me why some americans oppose the statehood of DC ?

there live more americans in DC then in states like colorado.

The founders created DC so that the nations capital could not show favoritism to a particular state . The Libs want to make it a state to pack the house and senate with more libs . It goes against the intent of the framers of the constitution , as most libs usually do .

@TexChik well the constitution gets adjusted all the time because you can hardly foresee society changes 200 years in the future.

there is no reason why the residents in that area should have less freedom then other americans.

@TexChik its about time then for an important issue. keep the goverment buildings state free and the resident areas are a new state. easy compromise
