THIS Is What the Taliban Think of Women:
A Taliban minister once said that a woman is like "a flower, a rose" that must be kept at home for one's own enjoyment. "You water it and keep it at home for yourself, to look at it and smell," said Wakil Ahmed Muttawakil, who served as foreign minister when the Taliban ruled Afghanistan. "It is not supposed to be taken out of the house to be smelled."
Horrible, truly horrible and we should speak out about this. However, I'd just say that it isn't just the Taliban who do that... all round the world women are being treated as objects or second class citizens, not given freedom to choose how their own life works.

Wakil Ahmed Muttawakil said this more than 20 years ago and has since defected from the Taliban and been disowned by the group.

They could still hold his philosophy on women to be true, but so did a lot of American men in 1951. So do some American men today.

The point is that is what the Taliban think of women.

It's what they thought of us 20 years ago and it's what they think of us today.

@beckyromero It is, and it doesn't align with American values. I'm just saying more American men that you might think also hold that attitude.

Agreed. And not all of them are Muslim, either.
