Should Police 'Tag' All Vehicles at Traffic Stops?

The technology that helps decrease the number of high-speed pursuits could also be used at traffic stops in case a driver tries to flee with his/her vehicle after being stopped.

Tagging all vehicles would be expensive and pretty useless, but this is interesting technology for some specific cases. Newer cars already have GPS tracker that can be searched by numberplate, but for older cars this could make a chase a lot safer and easier. The firing gives off kind of a James Bond vibe though.

If the driver is found not guilty the officer and police department will be liable for the vehicle

It sticks on and can be pulled off. Shouldn't cause any damage to the vehicle.

But the driver in a chase has no way of removing it.
