@fortycreek Not really an easy mistake unless you never train or are straight out of the academy. But 20 years on the job and you don't know what side your gun is on? That seems to be an insult to people's intelligence.
@fortycreek yes, they moved the taser to the opposite side from the gun rather than next to the gun to cut down on errors grabbing the wrong item. guess they will have to go to make them a bright yellow or orange to make sure they don't get mixed up.😺
@fortycreek @fortycreek the taser in the video was black just like a gun so it did not pop out in her vision as not being a taser as they were both black. the brain shuts down in emergencies. it needs to be bright fluorescent yellow. the fluorescent colors are bright as they glow with the ultraviolet light that is in sunlight. you see it used on some laundry detergent boxes so they really stand out in the aisle at the stores. 😺 there is also a delay with the brain processing stuff. the 13-year-old boy the Chicago police shot had his hands up but he had just turned around and put his hands up. the cop had decided to shoot as the boy was turning and squeezed the trigger after the boy put his hands up. he likely realized he should not shoot but his fingers were already squeezing down and the delay in brain processing caused the gun to fire when he was seeing he should not be firing at about the same time as he was squeezing the trigger on the gun.
@fortycreek I think in the panic she got mixed up and totally forgot the difference between right and left hand. and since both are black it did not pop out at her until after she fired when she heard the gunshot instead of the pop of a taser. if the taser had been a bright yellow she would have seen she had the wrong weapon soon as it was in front of her. cops are so well trained not to let a person drive off that they will do anything to stop them including holding onto the car as it drives off then falling off when it is going fast and dying from it instead of letting go soon as the car takes off. cops won't let a person getaway that is trying to avoid going to jail. If a person is barricaded inside his house with his doors braced so they cant be kicked open they will use a armored vehicle to punch a hole in the wall of the house to get into the house to get him and they will even go after that person even if the person is shooting back at them and die to keep a person from avoiding jail.😺
