Planning for the future is less useful to people who have little or no control over their lives or environment, and short term modes of thinking will become dominant in a culture over a few generations of people living in a chaotic environment - or one that is dominated by others.

The question is how to work with this situation, but people tend to get lost in the blaming.

They present it as strictly a race issue. “Hallmark of whiteness” is the exact term used for future time orientation. So if you’re poor and white you are capable of future planning, but if you’re a black millionaire you’re not?
