Better off financially? No. I am in the tax bracket ($400,000+) of those who will have to pay the new minimum wage and pay more in taxes. My daughter, however, will be better off financially and I am okay with that. Because I am not greedy.
Is it worth it, yes. I drive on the roads and really don't like potholes. I want single mother/fathers to be able to take care of their families without asking the Government to help them (because isn't this what we ALL want?) And even if they work at minimum wage jobs, they will be able to. I truly believe that American populace would rather make enough money to support themselves than the big government being all up in our lives. I also want my taxes raised so we can give opportunity for higher education for those that want it.
