Why do republicans think its ok to allow guns for terrorists and other demented people ?

considering the latest shooting at a hospital, shouldnt guns be restricted to people with some responsibility ?

why do republicans want crimnals to attack peaceful citizens ?

I think those restrictions are coming soon to the United States. Canada seems to be doing fine without everyone carrying rifles around

@SW-User well the republicans are explicitely campaignung to keep mentally unstable people armed, they also want criminals armed.

@Bad4U yeah,it’s a controversial topic. The United States are a very strong country. Maybe it’s time to update the untouchable constitution a little bit. Let’s call it patch.21st century

@Bad4U I’m assuming you have never purchased a firearm have you?

@SW-User we have much better gun laws here in Canada, in my opinion, but the big difference is the gun culture.

The average American gun owner has firearms for the purpose of self defence. Your average gun owner in Canada has it for hunting and recreation, and most likely considers pointing it at another human being deeply taboo.

@Dolimyte And you hit on a fair point there. It's not just about number of guns (other countries have far more) and it's not about tougher and ultimately unenforceable laws (most mentally unstable are as-of-yet unidentified). Our culture worships gunplay and equates firearms with power and status. As long as that ensures, we'll have the same societal problems.
