Honestly I think society needs a blend of economic models. It's painfully clear that whatever the US is operating under, whether it's called capitalism or crony capitalism or socialism for the rich, is a Ponzi scheme.
An economic model can't work if a huge number of citizens find they can't afford basic needs, people will throw it out one way or another
