So all politicians are deluded, what else is new?
Bad4U · 22-25, F
@meJess its not the same level of vileness that is the problem here... every politican lies no matter the country or party. but there are huge differences in how absurd and dishusting those lies are... and if you cant see that you are a lost cause
@meJess No. All Republicans are deluded. The Democrats aren't great, but you don't see them supporting people like this.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@meJess What's wrong is that we treat it like it's not a big deal, just a joke or just "politics." And then people die when US citizens acting as insurrectionists storm a federal building with intent of doing grievous bodily harm. Then suddenly everyone's drawing lines in the sand with absolutely no inkling as to how we all got here.

@Bad4U I have seen far too many disgusting lies and unhinged conspiracy theories from both sides. Anyone that still thinks either one is any better than the other, IMO, is a lost cause. Both should be shut down and shipped out of the country.

@BohemianBoo And just what makes you think all Republicans support her? Stereotyping an entire group as a monolith because of a few nuts, which you would find in any large group, is bigoted and wrong, just as believing all minorities of the same skin color think just alike, something Democrats have done for decades, is racist.
@Indieoriginal But it's not just "a few nuts." The vast majority of Republicans supported Trump. I'm sure there are some exceptions, but nearly every Republican actually is delusional, racist, and fascist.
Indieoriginal · 61-69, M
@BohemianBoo Fascist? That's a good one. Did our "educators" stop teaching history? All fascist regimes through that history have started with censorship of any dissent, or speech that might distract from the created narrative, with their 'foot soldiers' on the streets to terrorize the population into accepting oppression as an alternative to death, the large propaganda machine to enslave the minds of the people while using every means possible to divide the people, create hatred, and encourage violence.
Take the blinders off of your eyes, if you can, and take a good look at your own Twitter/Facebook team of technofascists. Take an unbiased look at your MSM, with tools like Lemon pushing anti-white racism and bigotry towards anyone that doesn't think and believe just like you do.
Not saying Republicans are really any better, as I believe we would be far better off without political parties, but exactly where have they been doing any of that?
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Indieoriginal Trump mulled over the possibility of preventing the free press from covering him. Out loud.

The propaganda machine with Trump and his followers is enormous. It's legion. Tolls, followers, the religious, even Russian and Chinese hackers have helped fuel the largest diffuse next of propaganda seen in generations.

His "foot soldiers" took it upon themselves not only to police protesters but the Congress itself, illegally breaching federal property and threatening to take human life. They succeeded in the latter.
Indieoriginal · 61-69, M
@Graylight Obama and several other past presidents have manipulated or fought against the press as well, nothing new there. Russian collusion, created as an attempt to distract from a certain email/illegal server scandal, has been repeatedly disproven, though still used as a failing distraction from Beijing, and evidence has shown, though your state media won't report it, China intervened in 2020 to put their own bought and paid for puppet in the WH. The capitol riot, shown to be planned in advance, with the building breached a good while before Trump finished the speech, could only have been instigated by Trump if he was a time traveler or actually had the god-like powers to summon earthquakes and hurricanes that your state media, in their hate mongering blame game, have imbued him with.
However, I'm through wasting my time on this, it is obvious your bunch here is already too far gone with all that politically constructed hate to see reality. Just know that in the end, you will be suffering right along with the rest of us, though possibly no longer even care as long as you think you're 'sticking it to the other party'. Sad, really.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Indieoriginal M'kay. See you at the next rally.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Graylight Watching this whole argument develop would be humourous if it was not competely appalling..Left or right is not Relevant. (Although the right seems to be holding the playing field for now) A major political party is nominating, supporting and defending a person so racist, bigotted and just plain Looney, that any other Western nation would have laughed her out of office while her Party would have disowned her and have held an enquiry to find those responsible for letting her in the door...
And the Democrats are no better for taking her seriously in the congress and in the Media. Shame on you America. I think you can do better...
@Indieoriginal MAGA to you. MAGA I say!
@Indieoriginal

Twitter and Facebook are private companies. They can ban whoever they want.
However, when the government puts people in jail for peacefully expressing themselves, or rigs elections like Trump tried to do multiple times, that's actual fascism.
Indieoriginal · 61-69, M
@BohemianBoo Whatever. Looks like they may lose their section 230 protection soon, anyway. It is being investigated. Section 230 is set up to protect platforms, which
allow diverse opinions and ides to be posted. Publishers, which decide what to allow , and control what their users see, are not protected. If it's ruled that they became publishers with their actions, they become liable for everything their users post, as well as being open to lawsuits. There are a lot of people that would gladly sue them for slander and such.
BTW, as I have stated, I am not a Trump supporter, and support neither of your two failed parties. Though I do, at times, attempt to defend reality, which is virtually nonexistent here.
@Indieoriginal Reality? You said that Facebook and Twitter were taking away freedom of speech.
It really just sounds like you're blindly repeating talking-points.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@BohemianBoo Yup, just like wearing a mask is "unconstitutional," even though the issue hasn't ever been raised in a court.

It's easy. If those guys can refuse to bake pastries for those they find "icky" under protection of the law, then so may a private company like FB choose the people it will do business with. Freedom works both ways, right?
@Graylight
Not to conservatives.
