Money, Politics and Democracy. Your thoughts?

I continue to be shocked at the amount of money that's involved in USA politics. It borders on the obscene to me.
"Money talks" it seems and without it ... what?

sure, the US has gradually put all it's politics and policies on the auction block for the highest spender. It's fundamentally corrupt, and it's hard to see how to break the hold money and the plutocrats have, on all the levers of power
