The Alamo?

This is not a joke.

Trump is traveling to the Alamo today, to mark the completion/renovation of 450 miles of wall.

We, Americans paid $Billions for this wall. Mexico paid nothing. He promised to build the wall and make Mexico pay for it.

Meanwhile, we had another record Covid infections and deaths week, the Capitol was invaded by terrorists egged on and primed to go by Trump, 3 more cabinet members resigned. Oh, and he's going to be impeached. MAGA.

I think Trump is actually heading for the City of Alamo, which is a city of 20,000 in Hidalgo County in the Rio Grande Valley in one of the few places where the wall is actually being extended. It is one of the primary entry points to Mexico from US Hwy 281. Trump Trains (armed men in pickups and cars) are planning to drive the roads along the border to celebrate Trump.

@Dlrannie He'd never go to Mexico though. He'd go to a country where he could live opulently that would shield him from the consequences of his crimes as president, like one of the former Soviet Republics.

Fortunately, someone else will be in charge of getting him to the podium. Would anyone really be surprised to see him show up in SA? 😏

@Northwest The Rio Grande Valley is heavily Democratic due to the high Hispanic population. Most people in The Valley are opposed to Trump and his antics and shenanigans.

He'll travel 45 minutes from Harlingen instead of driving the 20-some minutes straight to Alamo on the 2. Cuz this way he gets to fly more? When he lands in McAllen he then has to drive 10 miles back toward Harlingen to reach Alamo. Boggles the mind.

@hlpflwthat I know the wall was being extended in parts of the Valley. I just assumed it was near Alamo, since that is where Trump was heading, but I could be wrong. So much winning indeed.

@windinhishair No wall Alamo area - the wildlife refuge is south of Alamo. There's some wall south of McAllen - where there are also some people - but let's 'Alamo' this motherfucker.

What there aren't so much in Alamo are cops. Pick-up parades for everyone 😏

@hlpflwthat No wall going through the wildlife refuge? That's interesting, because parts of Organ Pipe National Monument in Arizona are being bulldozed and cleared with vegetation removal in anticipation of the wall which will never be built. The scars will last many human lifetimes, if not permanently. I'm glad the environmental destruction doesn't include the Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge.

@windinhishair I thought they had completed a border section by McAllen, which is close to Alamo. I've never been to that part of Texas.

@Northwest Perhaps that is where they are going. I haven't been there in awhile, so I'm not sure what the current situation is other than what others tell me.
