I posted a poll earlier asking if the US wanted to move to Communism with Trump as King, but after reflection, I believe that poll was incorrect. The real question should have been, would America be OK with a Dictator.
As mentioned in the other poll, Trump has his idols that he worships. His good friends in the political arena. Namely Putin and Kim Jong-un. Both are Dictators. Trump wants America to go this way. He openly asked about extending his term past 8 years, and you can be sure that if he had succeeded in getting a second term, he would have altered the rules to give him more than 2, but now he has another goal, which may work out well with his plan anyways. Instead of using the 4 years of his second term to alter the rules, he can instead incite a revolution, to throw out the old constitution, and name him as King of USA. Once he has himself as the King, all money flows to him, and he can rewrite the constitution to suit himself.
It would not surprise me if he didn't already have the new constitution roughly sketched out, hidden in a box in his back yard someplace.
