What do you think of the new developments in Politics this week?

Poll - Total Votes: 22
I think it's horrendous!
I support the President, but not what happened on Wednesday.
I support the President and the actions of the individuals who took part in the riot.
Don't know. Pretty stressed.

Where is the option for, "I think the President and his followers are criminals and should be prosecuted."
PoliticalReasoning · 22-25, M
@MeowsoliniReturns I'm trying to remain neutral, but your opinion has been expressed.
That was the option I was looking for, too. I can’t stay neutral with a sitting president who lies about voter fraud, incites his supporters to riot and gets people killed.

@bijouxbroussard In short, I do not support the POTUS in any way, but I would like to respect those who do and not widen the rift that plagues our society.

@PoliticalReasoning I respect those who act in a respectful manner. I have yet to see his followers, or him, do so.

@PoliticalReasoning 0 respect for them from me - enablers
@PoliticalReasoning Look at it dispassionately for a moment. You want us to respect the people who didn’t respect our democracy enough to accept the will of the majority of this country’s people.
Trump and his folks are the criminals, undeserving of respect.
PoliticalReasoning · 22-25, M
@bijouxbroussard I'm not saying I disagree with you, but categorizing all Trump supporters as anti-democratic violent people is an injustice. I simply wish to end the hatred these two political parties have for each other.
@PoliticalReasoning I’m talking about those who proved they were on January 6, 2021. The people who weren’t there, but are calling those fanatics “patriots” are just as guilty and have the same blood on their hands. Incidentally, these are the same people who called all civil rights protesters “savages” last year. People who were fighting for their lives. Trump’s people were fighting because he lost an election and lied to them.

@bijouxbroussard Big speculation: Why wasn't the national guard deployed beforehand to defend the capital from the armed, historically violent, and conspiracy-pedalling Trump supporters? In comparison to the BLM protests, which were peaceful and unarmed, where the National Guard was deployed to protect the capital from nothing.

@bijouxbroussard Yes. And willing to die for their leader who later tried to wash his hands of them in his half-assed speech.
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@PoliticalReasoning Why? Because Trump refused to call in The National Guard. Pence took over and did so.
@PoliticalReasoning Because the white supremacist in the White House was afraid of us. Trump built a fence around the White House and hid in his bunker when BLM was marching on a nearby street. And this is not the first time Trump supporters have been treated differently. They stormed Michigan’s capital building last year when they were protesting the lockdown, and nobody shot them dead.
