Depends on your perspective. Consumer demand creates jobs in the private sector. Those with capital or access to it tend to be best positioned to take advantage of the opportunity that creates and are the primary beneficiaries. To the victor goes the spoils. Those who have pay a portion in taxes the wealthy class often has more control over how their income is structured and use it to pay the almost as little as a percentage of income as poor Americans but because their income is so great, the numbers frequently seem to be quite large. It's easier to just assume small businesses create the most jobs, there's truth to it and someone to praise, but it's more accurate to say that the market creates the jobs in America funded by tax dollars and private equity.

@laotzu92 A little more cynical and cruder but hard to argue with. I hope that the positive growth of promotions to shop local demonstrate at least a small amount of consumer awareness. Thanks for pointing it out.
