How does Trump win the election?

I’m genuinely curious. What is the mechanism where he wins another term and is sworn in on January 20? I’m interested in Trump supporters explaining how he will accomplish this. I keep hearing people say it’s not over yet but I’m not clear on the specific steps.

If neither candidate reaches 270 it goes to what they call a Congressional vote a congressional is vote is one vote per state 50 votes Trump won 28 States Biden 16, 6 are in question. Then it becomes a simple majority vote just what liberals always wanted if Biden still gets the six that are in question it's still 28 to 22 Trump wins it's all spelled out in our constitution. the Constitution is an amazing document if you ever have time to read it. it has solutions for every possible conceivable problem in government but the most important thing is it limits government the people are supposed to still have the power.

@dale74 Biden has already officially reached the threshold. Not because the media say so, but officially.

The only way Trump is going to have a chance now is if a majority in the Senate decide to ignore the official EC results, which will be 306-232 in favour of Biden when they are counted on the 14th.

That’s not going to happen.
ididntknow · 51-55, M
@Uachtarain No he hasn’t, only the media are saying that, so many states are in contention
dale74 · M
@Uachtarain the electoral college has not met yet he has not become the president elect he does not technically become the president-elect until the electoral college meets or the other candidate concedes Trump has not conceded and the electoral college has not met. Think of it like this Vegas still has odds on the presidency and Trump still has a 10% chance to win if Biden was President elect Vegas would have already paid out to everybody that bet on Biden.
Uachtarain · 31-35, M
@dale74 Trump does not have a 10% chance of winning; his chances of winning are so low that I doubt mathematicians have a number to describe it.

Trump does not have to concede. Nothing in the Constitution says he has to.

The Electoral college will meet on the 14th and certify Biden as the winner. There is nothing that Trump can do about it. He’s tried to steal the election. He has failed.

Trump has lost. Deal with it 😎👍

@Uachtarain not if Biden doesn't get 270 it goes to Congress and that is one vote per state do everyone a favor wear a diaper so you don't shit yourself
Uachtarain · 31-35, M
@dale74 What part of he has the 270 votes do you not understand?

In fact as of this moment Biden has 288 votes, which have been officially certified, and Trump has 222.

Only NJ, HI and MO have yet to certify. Those are the facts.

Tough 😎👍
Uachtarain · 31-35, M
@ididntknow yes he has. This is not the media saying it; this is the state legislatures themselves.

The results are official. Tough 😎👍

@Uachtarain hate to tell you this but you're wrong
Uachtarain · 31-35, M
@dale74 I’m right I’m afraid. Biden will be elected on the 14th. Trump has lost 🙂

If I’m wrong, tell me why, and prove it.

@Uachtarain watch the supreme Court this week especially Samuel alito because the Pennsylvania supreme Court dismissed the case without even looking at the evidence he told him they had been told the ninth then they came out and said oh well you'll be too late by then so he moved it up to the 8th they have to redress the evidence in the case to satisfactory conditions for the supreme Court will take the case because they violated the constitution in Pennsylvania Pennsylvania Constitution explicitly says there are only for reasons someone can receive a mail in ballot and by them not changing the Constitution before they allowed people to vote by mailing ballot they violated the Constitution of Pennsylvania and because they violated the constitution of the Pennsylvania they also violated the US Constitution. And if that case goes through in Pennsylvania is not able to see their electors then three or four other of the states and play will fall the same exact way not allowing biding to get 270 that will the end require a vote of Congress which is one vote per state meaning Texas is equal to Louisiana California is equal to Ohio 50 votes Trump won 28 States that means he will win 28 to 22. The Constitution is a fabulous document it spells out every contingency pretty much but nobody reads the Constitution.
Uachtarain · 31-35, M
@dale74 ridiculous.

What on earth makes you think that
three or four more states will fall the same way
? Which states? And why do you think that? There are no more cases from other states going in front of the SCOTUS. It’s done, it’s over. There’s no evidence of widespread voter fraud. The deadline is tomorrow.

Even if the SCOTUS completely loses its collective mind and demands Pennsylvania be awarded to Trump for some reason, he still hasn’t got enough votes. And the SCOTUS won’t magically decide to nullify the election and decide Trump is the winner based on the results from one state.

Accept the facts. Donald J. Trump lost in a landslide to Joseph R. Biden Jnr.

Tough 😎

@dale74 So, your post was barely intelligible, but from what I can tell, you were banking on SCOTUS to block PA's certification. They didn't. They're not going to. And by your own words, the 9th is too late. Are you ready to concede you've been fed a line yet?
Uachtarain · 31-35, M
@OggggO he seems to have disappeared. Just like Trump’s chances 😂
dale74 · M
@Uachtarain I'm still here it's just some people actually have a job and have to work. You know to play for all the free stuff that Biden has promised.
Uachtarain · 31-35, M
@dale74 Well, at least you’ll be able to see whether he lives up to his promises 🙂
OggggO · 36-40, M
@dale74 What free stuff? Bastard has been very adamant that he isn't giving anyone anything.
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@dale74 38 Biden electors are not going to suddenly vote for Trump. It’s over, but if you want to wait until the 14th to admit that, great. Or then will you say that we won’t know the real winner until Biden is sworn in?

It’s going to get boring listening to all of the Trump supporters saying their guy still has a chance between now and when Biden’s first term ends on January 20, 2025.
Uachtarain · 31-35, M
@Lila15 the goalposts will be moved again. The [removed by staff] will say that the election is FAR from over. It will be up to Congress to “accept” them, even though they are obliged to.

The fact that the [removed by staff] are staking everything on what would essentially be a coup must be worrying.
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@Uachtarain The dangerous period will be after Dec. 14, when they won’t be able to pretend that Biden lost, but Trump will still be president.
dale74 · M
@Lila15 tell me one time you've seen Trump supporters out riding in the street shooting unarmed people beating people to death oh wait that's right you can't there's what's known as civil discourse that's where you don't take things to rioting in the street breaking into businesses is still a flat screen TV that's because Trump supporters know how to act like adults not spoiled brats
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@dale74 That happened during the George Floyd protests. Also, a right wing militia group attempted to kidnap a governor. More recently, Trump supporters have interfered with state recounts, and have made death threats to government officials.

Can you provide an example of Biden supporters engaging in violence? Not “BLM” or “antifa,” but Biden supporters specifically. Keep in mind that most Biden supporters are really just people who don’t like Yrump, and only supported Biden because he was the only other option.
dale74 · M
@Lila15 there's a couple of crazies everywhere but you didn't see thousands of people out rioting in the streets that are conservatives and when you see right-wing militia group that tried to kidnap a governor you're talking about six people.
OggggO · 36-40, M
@dale74
but you didn't see thousands of people out rioting in the streets that are conservatives
It's not even a new thing, he's been encouraging this since he was a primary candidate:
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/trump-warns-supporters-may-riot-fears-violence-escalate-n540516
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@dale74 Right wing media grossly exaggerated how "violent" those protests were. In some cases, they showed footage from Belarus and claimed it was the U.S. Most of the violence came from right wingers like Kyle Rittenhouse, or the cops themselves. From what I hear from people in Portland, if you were a few blocks away from the protests, you wouldn't have known they were even going on.

But if you think there were violent left wing protests, what do you think will happen if Trump manages to steal this election and stay in power? We'll have a civil war.
OggggO · 36-40, M
@dale74 Given the events of yesterday and today, I just want to draw attention to this claim once again:
but you didn't see thousands of people out rioting in the streets that are conservatives
