There should be a count done right. If the people who are counting cant do it right higher some children that can. I bet this wont work if you owed 10 thousand dollars in taxes and you said nope my algorithm says you owe me 7300. Where do these people get algorithms from? When did this start? Best question yet how can we get 0 algorithms and go back to basic math that can't lie. Where ever you are at 1+1=2 not 3.14.. or some dumb shit. As an American I am pissed off if this is the truth and everyone else should be too. What else has been skewed due to this bs?? How many times have the people been cheated? My grandfather's are rolling in thier graves I am sure. Both WWII vets.

@ColoradoKid I do think that part of the problem is there are too many things to vote on on each ballot. This makes it difficult to count the ballots. That means that it is very tempting to use machines to count the ballots. If the machines were simple dumb tabulators it would be one thing but as more and more is asked of the machine the more complex the machine must become and with that comes the opportunity to hack the machine. Where I live in Canada the election is held in all kinds of neighborhood buildings. Close enough that most people can simply walk there. There is a voter list and you have to present a form of ID before you are sent to your polling place. Once there you present your ID and your name is stricken from the list as you receive your ballot. The ballot is very simple. It has 4 or 5 choices of which you pick only one. The ballot filled out is returned to the ballot box where the registration number from the ballot is removed and the ballot given back to you to put in the ballot box. The vote count begins with counting the number of serial numbers and compare it to the number of ballots. The ballots are then separated by choice with scrutineers from all political parties (there are 4 or 5 of them) and each ballot is put in the pile of a particular candidate. The piles are counted and logged by each scrutineer and put back in the ballot box. The box is then sealed and can only be reopened by court order in case a recount is called for. The log from each polling place is tabulated and within a few hours and the winner declared. It is a simple method but it works in the main. Yes there is some fraud but it is difficult to pull off. Most often it is people who register from their home and their place of business or work. When found out there is a penalty so you have to be very politically motivated to vote illegally.
