UK massive tax hikes on the way

In a few of the Sunday papers today.
UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak is warning of major tax hikes in the new year as Britain starts paying back the debt borrowed for the Coronavirus.

Also in many papers the Prime Minister Boris Johnson suggesting that a ‘no deal’ with the E:U seems the most likely outcome and people should prepare for that possibility.

Internal Tory party squabbles are already simmering as many Conservative MP’s represent business interests openly.
One or two starting to sew seeds of discontent warning that the Prime Minister will be on shaky ground if he tries to push his Brexit deal through Parliament and it not being up to scratch.

To be fair what do you expect when the government has forked out as much money as it has in the past 9 months? It has to be from somewhere.

Spare a thought for Americans that got two payments in the whole period, while we have been getting 80% of our pay covered?

@SirenCalledLuce one payment
@MrBrownstone Even shitter then.

@SirenCalledLuce Americans got screwed over because for some reason they allowed their President to absolve himself of all responsibility.

Quite how you counter that (other than via the ballot box) has shown how the constitution fails its people in times of desperate need.
@Picklebobble2 True. What’s the point of being a citizen of the worlds largest economy when you can’t afford rent?
