It's been that way since at least the bush administration, has just gotten worse.
When you can't win people with policy you resort to playground tactics. Now a whole generation believes conservative = nazi/fascist/racist/misogynist/ignorant and so on. And anyone who believes otherwise is in a cult.
Nevermind they say all of this while engaging in those exact behaviors.

@Callmewhatyouwill Yeah, I agree with you on it. Moderates of both alignments should take distances from those elements, which I don't see happening much.
@JT123 And the Republican party used to be the party of Abraham Lincoln, now some of those who vote Rep wave the confederacy flag.. Things change over time.
