The Goddess of Liberty Hath Spoken Today...

Ciao, bello! 😄

The Goddess of Liberty expels the embodiment of despotism from the shores of America, using Her face mask as a slingshot.

I kiss you, my American friends. 🌷🌷🌷

@helenS Haha, indeed ...the "dumb blond's" turn next?

@helenS I don't think so. Another Trump term may have made certain things easier but I was watching a news analysis last night withe former British Ambassador and he thought that Boris and Joe have enough in common to overcome the Irish question

@ArtieKat
Boris and Joe have enough in common to overcome the Irish question
That would be great.
(I thought that BoJo and Donny are allies because both hate the EU.)

@helenS I can't remember all the things discussed but Climate Change and NATO were up there as mutual interests

@ArtieKat Thank you 🌷
I did not know.

@ArtieKat This is what I was referring to (sorry, quite long):
(source: https://www.npr.org/2020/11/03/929628586/what-a-joe-biden-presidency-might-mean-for-the-u-k?t=1604783781335)

"If President Trump is defeated in Tuesday's election, one loser in the region could be British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Trump's closest ally in Europe. While Trump has often denigrated other European leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron, he's chummy with Johnson, who, like Trump, is seen as a populist showman.
"He's a good guy," Trump said of Johnson last year. "He's a friend of mine."
More significantly, Trump has backed two of Johnson's key policy priorities: Brexit and a free-trade deal with the U.S., the world's largest economy.
But Biden, who opposed Brexit, would have different priorities if he becomes president. Unlike Trump, Biden values the trans-Atlantic relationship with Europe and hopes to rebuild ties with allies like Germany and France that Trump has insulted and alienated.

(...)

A Biden presidency would also put more pressure on Johnson to abandon his threat of a no-deal Brexit and conclude a trade deal with the European Union. The United Kingdom is in a Brexit transition period that expires at the end of this year. Biden, who is of Irish descent, has warned Johnson not to mess around in negotiations with the EU or do anything that could undermine the 1998 Northern Ireland peace agreement.

"Joe Biden's personal stake and role in this has been absolutely key in forcing a change of position in Downing Street vis-à-vis the EU in those talks," Rahman says."

@helenS That was published before the election - it was predicted last night that Biden's first call will indeed be to Angela Merkel but then Merkel has been outspoken recently about the need for the EU to respect the UK's sovereignty post-Brexit. I have absolutely no doubt that a last-minute trade deal will be agreed. All of this is just playing to the gallery, smoke and mirrors to protect bruised egos

@ArtieKat Let's all hope your predictions will materialize!
