Kanye is mentally ill.....so when he opened his mouth he sunk his own ship. Polling told Orange Jesus he wasn't gonna get the black vote. So to split the black vote so all of it didn't go to the Biden.......trump backed and financed the campaign of Kanye so at least "some" of the black vote would go to anyone else--other than all of it to Biden. Unfortunately for trump, Kenye is so mentally ill he washed out before he could even make the ticket to be a candidate. The idea was to split the Dem vote...but when it came out that trump was pushing West ONLY so he could skew the election that bonded black voters even harder against trump........as you saw in November.

Unfortunately it credits Mr Trump with a strategic brilliance which he's never otherwise demonstrated very much! (But if some sneakily was planning it all for him...?)

@Persephonee Trump was a puppet from day #1. Bannon ran much of his presidency from the sidelines. Others like Flynn and Roger Stone had agendas. Big oil interests. Mining interests. Banking interests. Trump's "advisors"...and what he heard on FOX and other ultra right wing sites formed his ideas and conspiracy theories for almost everything he said and did as president. On his own trump has zero leadership skills. His only main skill is recruiting a base.........which he stalled at when he reached about 34% of the voting public. Having never "converted" any more than 34%--37%.....the focus changed in the GOP to voter suppression and gerrymandering to discount the vote against him. Didn't work.........but he and the GOP gave it one hell of a try.
