@Poppies the Dems of the last administration tried to ruin small business

@MarineBob I'm not following your reasoning. I understand a desire to retire. But if you're not actually ready to retire, why hurt yours, and other people's livelihood, people you care about, simply because you don't trust him.
@MarineBob I'm sorry Bob. I'm not following how the Dems are keeping you from your vacation home or placing your company in a position to lose more. If you posted about it earlier, I didn't see it. I haven't been around here that much.
@MarineBob Just read an article today on MSN, bankruptcies are up something like 200% from last year, they spoke with a law firm dealing with bankruptcies and they surmised that it would be much higher rates of filing in small businesses except for the Covid shutdown reducing their liquid capital, they can't afford to file and retain counsel. When this is over, the democrats in the house, senate and governors offices will see how badly they screwed the country.
@QuixoticSoul 40 Million jobs, that is 40 million people who were on the bottom rung of the economic ladder to begin with that don't have jobs any more. That their old job may not be there because the business has folded. 40 Million people with no health insurance. 40 million people who may lose their home. How many children count on those 40 million unemployed workers? How many more people are going to be jobless when we finally decide to put this behind us? You use the 200K number to whip Trump and as an excuse to browbeat anyone who doesn't share your choice in politicians, the callousness of your myopic fixation is appalling. I do understand that 200K is a lot of people, not as bad as they predicted, but still a great number. Having said that, do we really need to harm 330 million people to get Joe Biden elected?
@DangerousPanda That's because you don't die of covid, you die of covid-related pneumonia, heart failure, stroke, etc. That doesn't actually change anything, we are still experiencing a huge number of excess deaths due to this virus.
@Roadsterrider This whine is a good reason for government relief and boosted unemployment benefits during times where we need to take society-wide actions for the good of society as a whole.
Btw, 100-200k is what they predicted, IF we take mitigation measures (at the time of that prediction, hopes of prevention were already lost). We took half-assed and inconsistent mitigation measures, and hence we are about to cross that original upper bound, while the economic malaise is still continuing.
And yet that was all avoidable. My parents are drinking beer in pubs at their EU home, because the country they were living in didn't shit the bed.
