The unemployment rate (U-3) began rising from 4.7% in November 2007 and peaked at 10.0% in October 2009 as the crisis deepened, approximately where it remained until November 2010
Of course, this is still a pretty goofy observation to make.

@Burnley123 It recovered, but I wouldn't be surprised if the average ended up above 8%. Regardless, yeah it is silly.
