They find higher taxes, better regulation and social justice efforts to be burdensome. But let's be clear on two points: 1, the net shift over the last 9 years has been 3.2 million, roughly .1% (Census Bureau). 2, the top three blue states to lose voters are CA, IL and TX. These states are home to the nation's largest cities, which traditionally begin to show gradual declines as crowding and its ills urge people to seek other places.

So there's no "fleeing," though good use of the Talking Point word.
@Graylight I live in Chicago...People and businesses are fleeing to Indiana. The word seemed appropriate. I am not parroting someone elses talking point.

@ianR0ckwell
“Illinois saw a decline in households earning less than $100,000 a year, while those earning more than $200,000 increased by 50 percent. The state’s real per capita income is also on an upward trend, from $43,208 in 2010 to $53,727 in 2019.”
Gentrification. Those who can't compete are fleeing for less-developed, more economically backwards areas.
@Graylight TX is not a blue state yet.

@ianR0ckwell It's in literally every conservative headline, the word "fleeing." And it's simply not. Hearing about people leaving doesn't change the fact that it's representative of 1% in shift over a nine-year period.

@LeopoldBloom True. It's purple these days. It does mark on the big three states for relocation.
@Graylight It's turning blue due to people from CA relocating there. It may not turn blue this cycle, but within ten years it will if current trends hold.
