Should the U.S. still be considered a democracy at this point?

@FreeSpirit1 A republic is an implementation of democracy so that is a meaningless distinction.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow it's me pointing out we are a republic and asking why they think it doesnt feel like a democracy.

Democracy is a philosophy and a republic is a method of implementation of that philosophy.

@FreeSpirit1 I will grant you that a republic can be a method of implementing somewhat different approaches to government if we take Rome for example.

I pointed out it isnt considered a democracy and asked why they thought it wasn't. Do you think I'm not aware of how our republic operates?

No absolute democracy has ever existed in human history so it is a meaningless comparison.

Which is a form of a Democracy.
Ok? We are not considered a democracy we are considered a Republic.

A form of democracy or a democratic republic is a democracy. Nobody is comparing it to a hypothetical absolute democracy that has never existed.

@FreeSpirit1 You are considered both a (representative) democracy *and* a republic, guys. The ancient Republic of Venice was a non-democratic republic, if you want, but for sure not the U.S.
