I was right in guessing who Biden would pick. My sister-in-law and her older sister are both excited about Biden's pick for a running mate. There's some national pride there! LOL! I do think Harris is the best pick of the Democratic choices available. I am quite relieved it wasn't Lizzy! And I think Karen Bass would have been a disaster. I'd would rather have been picked myself, but I'll get over it! 😉
Yes, she was born in Oakland, California, but you could say Kamala Harris sort of hails from Canada. She spent most of her youth there! (And I don't have any problem with that!)

She didn't exactly "grow up" in Montreal. She was born in Oakland and grew up in Berkeley, moving to Montreal when she was 12 when her mother was hired at Jewish General Hospital and McGill University. Harris moved to Washington DC at 18 when she entered Howard University. So except for that 6 year period, she has lived in the U.S.
But yeah, wait for the MAGA cult to say that she's not "American" because her mother was born in India and her father in Jamaica. Trump's mother Mary neé Mac Leòid (Macleod) was born on the Isle of Tong off the coast of Scotland, and did not learn English until she emigrated to the U.S.
