Pro mask or anti mask?

I'm not sure the science supports the effectiveness of the masks.

Established Science, does not.😊
Elessar · 26-30, M
@Oster1 "Established Science" actually found them helpful. And long time ago, with a multitude of other pathogens no less, it's not that they've been made mandatory in operating rooms just yesterday.

If then by "established science" you mean qwacks on YouTube, then I guess that's not what the average person intends with "established science".

@Elessar No, you are a nice guy but just a little misinformed. It’s OK!

I still like you.😊
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Oster1 No, as usual, you are totally off-base, especially in light of the absolute avalanche of studies and meta studies on this subject that have been done over the last year and a half.
Oster1 · M
@QuixoticSoul Well, even though we may have our differences, I like you too! It’s no big deal and certainly nothing to fight over. 😊
@Oster1 Wrong.

It's true that Covid virus particles are smaller than the pores in a mask. However, Covid is emitted in droplets and masks are pretty good at stopping those droplets.

But rather than argue the theory of how masks might work, let's look at the effects of masks.

Duke University studied one million school children in thousands of classrooms including mostly masked, partially masked, mostly unmasked. They found masks to be pretty effective:

@ElwoodBlues As always, any study is open for peer review and further study. Wearing a mask all day has also been studied to be a health hazard.

You are not the end all, finite, last word! Just please understand that!😊
@Oster1
Wearing a mask all day has also been studied to be a health hazard.
Got a link to a study that concludes that? Please do share it with us!

All I'm asking from you is a little data to support your claims. I've presented data for my claims, if you have any critiques of the data, collection method, analysis, or whatever, please share that with us too!
Oster1 · M
@ElwoodBlues There are many. Your defense is aging, poorly.😊
@Oster1
There are many.
Good, link us to two of them, just to prove you're not bluffing.
@ElwoodBlues why don’t you research yourself, if you’re that knowledgeable as you claim to be, why ask people to spoon feed you information? Be curious not ignorant. Just sayin.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Oster1 There are entire professions where people wear masks through the day, and no, there aren’t oodles of studies coming out showing they are a hazard.
Oster1 · M
@QuixoticSoul I beg to differ. Nice try though.
Oster1 · M
@AwakeningConfession221122 Thank you, so much. My thoughts exactly!
@Oster1 Still bluffing, LOL!!!

@AwakeningConfession221122 I explained exactly why - to prove he's not bluffing! Instead, he proved he was bluffing. In a most obvious manner, LOL!!!
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Oster1 Your dentist has been risking his life his entire career I guess 🤷‍♂️

You beg to differ, but there is a reason you’re just alluding to all of this evidence that only you have seen.
Oster1 · M
@ElwoodBlues Elwood, as always, you are the Bluffer Extraordinaire!

Please, give me another, undocumented graph! I’m not fighting, just defending. Please get a clue and come back with something, we all can bite into!😊

I know you can do it!

OK, now your turn.
Oster1 · M
@QuixoticSoul Actually, my Dentist is part of my weekly foursome. Ask him! Hahahahaha!😊
Oster1 · M
@ElwoodBlues I’m aware of that study. It has been debated time after time, in the journals. Yeah, you probably think it’s ok to gene therapy young children too!
@Oster1
. It has been debated time after time, in the journals.
Really? Which journals? Link us to some of this debate. Just to prove you aren't buffing, of course.

Update: I have to tell you, it looks like you learned everything you know about "debate" from hippyjoe. Dude, you need a better model than that, LOL!!!
Oster1 · M
@ElwoodBlues I have nothing to prove, Elwood. Once again, your defense is just, falling on on deaf ears.
@Oster1 Yes indeed, you've already proved you are lousy at bluffing; and that you have no data and no studies to support your claims. I quite agree, you have nothing left to prove after that.

One last thought though: perhaps if you didn't stuff your fingers in your ears so tightly, they wouldn't be so very deaf.

Update: Call me Cassandra - I tell the truths you desperately need to deny. Speaking of which, I'll let you have the last word because you seem to really need that!
Oster1 · M
@ElwoodBlues Thank you, for your cordial insight. If only you were correct!😊
@ElwoodBlues WRONG 🖕. If you were curious enough and want to back your argument more, be curious to both sides of the fence and question both sides.
@AwakeningConfession221122 Oh, but I have researched the other side. It consists of silly people theorizing that masks couldn't possibly work due to the smallness of virus particles. Sad, really.
