Was George Floyd the right choice by the left to be the poster boy for destroying America?

George Floyd moved to Minneapolis in 2014 after being released from prison in Houston, Texas following an arrest for aggravated robbery

On May 25, 2020, Floyd was arrested for passing a counterfeit $20 bill at a grocery store in Minneapolis
He was under the influence of fentanyl and methamphetamine at the time of arrest

Floyd has more than a decade-old criminal history at the time of the arrest and went to jail for at least 5 times

George Floyd was the ringleader of a violent home invasion
He plead guilty to entering a woman’s home, pointing a gun at her stomach and searching the home for drugs and money, according to court records

Floyd was sentenced to 10 months in state jail for possession of cocaine in a December 2005 arrest
He had previously been sentenced to eight months for the same offense, stemming from an October 2002 arrest

Floyd was arrested in 2002 for criminal trespassing and served 30 days in jail
He had another stint for a theft in August 1998

Don't get me wrong......
I think the cop or cops responsible for his death should serve a life sentence for killing him.

But my question is.....why him? Why would the left use George as an example of an injustice? Why not choose one of the many black children shot and killed in Chicago everyday? It would be just as easy to blame Trump for that.

I think they should have chosen an innocent black child to be the poster boy, and not a lawless thug.

What say you?

Floyd was not under arrest for any crime. He was being detained for handing over what might have been a counterfeit bill which he might or might not have had anything to do with.

Yes, he had fentanyl and methamphetamine in his system at the time of his death, although the drugs are not listed as the cause of death. "Drugs in his system" means only that he tested positive, not that we was actively under the influence. And what of it? They in no way caused him to act out or commit illegal acts against the officers.

Yes, he had a criminal record. He struggled with drugs, and that often comes with petit theft charges, which is mostly what he had. He did commit aggravated robbery (the same time as the "home invasion" you mention) and he subsequently did his time for that.

On the day he was murdered - because the appropriate response to questioning a citizen is not to slowly deprive him of air until he suffocated to death under your knee - he did nothing to merit the treatment he received.

Still having trouble? Imagine a suited white man in midtown Manhattan stepping out for coffee and a muffin at Starbucks who passes along a bad bill in his $150 shirt. Would you expect the police to show up, bring him outside, cuff him and then wrestle him to the ground before sitting on him until they robbed him of his life in front of the noonday crowd? How 'bout a woman shopping at Jo Ann Fabrics in a Ohio suburb?

No one chose Floyd as a poster child. Law enforcement and a society that's institutionally racist and always has been made him the latest example of brutality by law enforcement. We can make him one of the last.

@Graylight The Trump cultists believe that if you are a "bad person", then you deserve to die at the hands of cops.

@Graylight he was a career criminal who was on drugs and dealing drugs and was stopped for possibly passing counterfeit money and then resisted arrest and got violent and had cocain on him....they did choose him as an excuse to riot and loot.......

@Platinum
then resisted arrest and got violent
There's extensive video evidence that this absolutely is not what happened.
@Platinum So according to you, he deserved summary execution.

What if the cops who arrested Roger Stone had executed him? You OK with that?

@OggggO in the video he was sitting peacefully and the cops were just standing there, you think they grabbed him and jumped on him for and kneeled on him for no reason....show us the evidence...

@LeopoldBloom can you show me where I said he deserved to die...I don't know who stone is....if anyone does not resist arrest they don't get attacked by the police black or white....but Floyd was still a piece of shit
