Was George Floyd the right choice by the left to be the poster boy for destroying America?

George Floyd moved to Minneapolis in 2014 after being released from prison in Houston, Texas following an arrest for aggravated robbery

On May 25, 2020, Floyd was arrested for passing a counterfeit $20 bill at a grocery store in Minneapolis
He was under the influence of fentanyl and methamphetamine at the time of arrest

Floyd has more than a decade-old criminal history at the time of the arrest and went to jail for at least 5 times

George Floyd was the ringleader of a violent home invasion
He plead guilty to entering a woman’s home, pointing a gun at her stomach and searching the home for drugs and money, according to court records

Floyd was sentenced to 10 months in state jail for possession of cocaine in a December 2005 arrest
He had previously been sentenced to eight months for the same offense, stemming from an October 2002 arrest

Floyd was arrested in 2002 for criminal trespassing and served 30 days in jail
He had another stint for a theft in August 1998

Don't get me wrong......
I think the cop or cops responsible for his death should serve a life sentence for killing him.

But my question is.....why him? Why would the left use George as an example of an injustice? Why not choose one of the many black children shot and killed in Chicago everyday? It would be just as easy to blame Trump for that.

I think they should have chosen an innocent black child to be the poster boy, and not a lawless thug.

What say you?

Him being killed, probably saved other innocent people's lives....so many decent black people have died who deserved better lives and choosing this thug to protest for is a joke....
@Platinum I hope his death saved lives as you said. The BLM protest is not just about George Floyd, if there was anyone that chose him it was every decent person who saw the video on live TV and believed that his death was wrong.

I never said he deserved to die , but how would you feel if he broke into your home and put a knife or gun to your pregnant wifes stomach and threatened to kill her....along with a gang of thugs....but people like him don't deserve to live....@softspokenman
@Platinum I didn't say that you said "he deserved to die" and I didn't imply that you said that. When a police officer arrests someone and takes that person into custody they go before a judge and the judge determines if they are guilty or not and/or if they should be released or held over for a trial to determine if they are guilty and what punishment they receive.
In a recent Trump interview he said that more white people are killed by police than black people because there are more white people. Is that justification for police to kill people ? Police arrest they aren't judge, jury, and executioner. I hope that you never have a family member that gets killed by a police officer for stealing a candy bar or they ran over someone's dog by accident that ran out in traffic because they couldn't stop in time and they weren't impaired or distracted by being on their phone.

When someone is being arrested by the police and they don't resist, then they don't need to put them on the floor and kneel on there necks and the person dies....you seem to hero worship Floyd ....and see no wrong in him....as far as me and my family getting killed by police, it will never happen we are law abiding people and if stopped by police will co operate with them.....@softspokenman

@Platinum How many people do you think a fake twenty is going to kill?
Platinum · M
I don't care about his 20 dollars, I care about all the other violent things he has done, clearly you look up to him@OggggO

Not for a career thug and drug taker....coming out of prison after five years he still has not changed and he would have ended up killing someone and so , the fact is although I did not want to see him get killed, I'm not crying over the fact he did die....@softspokenman
@Platinum Prison is not just about punishment it's also about 'Rehabilitation', of those who are guilty of 'Crime and Violence', the criminal minds. If he had been Rehabilitated at the beginning the other crimes wouldn't have happened. When you find the 'cure' for alchohol and drug, cellular addiction, you will become a very wealthy man.

An ex gf of mine met a guy , who spent 15 years for murder in Germany and then came back to uk and murdered her....so your point being....for the majority they never change..stop living in a dreamworld .....@softspokenman

@Platinum People killed by George Floyd = 0
People killed by Derek Chauvin ≥ 1

I know who I'm siding with.

A cop who has saved loads of lives and helped 1000s of people who has been sacked and is facing a murder charge against a thug and piece of shit who threatened to kill a pregnant woman and lots of other crimes ....you won't change my mind and I have no intention of changing your pathetic attitude , so run along as we are wasting each other's time..@OggggO
@Platinum My point, Being 'punished' for his crime and violence in prison for 15 years didn't 'Rehabilitate' him.
Platinum · M
@softspokenman it never , but now it don't matter...the cop was in the wrong but Floyd is dead and the cop has been sacked and will face a murder charge....that's it

@Platinum
A cop who has saved loads of lives and helped 1000s of people
You claim while producing no proof.
Platinum · M
After you show us proof he was a wonderful citizen@OggggO
OggggO · 36-40, M
@Platinum Being a good citizen is not a prerequisite for not getting murdered by law enforcement.
Platinum · M
@OggggO Go away, you are so boring , the cop got sacked and is up on a murder charge, and a piece of shit is off the streets....so what are you still worried about...a dodgy cop gone and a vile thug dead...don't seem anything to argue over...
OggggO · 36-40, M
@Platinum And yet even now, you're still talking better about the murderer than the victim. Nevermind that this shit is far from a one time occurrence.
Platinum · M
The cop must have done good somewhere in his career while Floyd has been an asshole all his life....why do you idolize him so much and you do idolize him....it's obvious@OggggO
OggggO · 36-40, M
@Platinum
The cop must have done good somewhere in his career while Floyd has been an asshole all his life

You again assert without proof.
Platinum · M
@OggggO he did two stints in the army and as a cop he was recommended for the medal of honour for saving the lives of some cops, now you tell me what the other piece of shit did in his 46 years
OggggO · 36-40, M
@Platinum Not murder anybody, for starters.
Platinum · M
How do you know, he has not been found out ...you are wasting your time, and very boring...now run along because I ain't changing my mind on that piece of shit you adore, the has done better in his life than Floyd bye@OggggO
