Was George Floyd the right choice by the left to be the poster boy for destroying America?

George Floyd moved to Minneapolis in 2014 after being released from prison in Houston, Texas following an arrest for aggravated robbery

On May 25, 2020, Floyd was arrested for passing a counterfeit $20 bill at a grocery store in Minneapolis
He was under the influence of fentanyl and methamphetamine at the time of arrest

Floyd has more than a decade-old criminal history at the time of the arrest and went to jail for at least 5 times

George Floyd was the ringleader of a violent home invasion
He plead guilty to entering a woman’s home, pointing a gun at her stomach and searching the home for drugs and money, according to court records

Floyd was sentenced to 10 months in state jail for possession of cocaine in a December 2005 arrest
He had previously been sentenced to eight months for the same offense, stemming from an October 2002 arrest

Floyd was arrested in 2002 for criminal trespassing and served 30 days in jail
He had another stint for a theft in August 1998

Don't get me wrong......
I think the cop or cops responsible for his death should serve a life sentence for killing him.

But my question is.....why him? Why would the left use George as an example of an injustice? Why not choose one of the many black children shot and killed in Chicago everyday? It would be just as easy to blame Trump for that.

I think they should have chosen an innocent black child to be the poster boy, and not a lawless thug.

What say you?

Nobody at all has used him as a poster boy. Its the straw which broke the camels back.

Tbh your post is ridiculous and a (deliberate) masterclass in missing the point.

You could always try and deal with the actual arguments made by BLM supporters.

However, that would take courage and honesty.
@Burnley123 you're partially right. The American media has basically sainted him. As did Democrat politicians.

@Callmewhatyouwill As a symbol, not as a person.
@Burnley123 symbols don't get 5 1000+ person funerals broadcast nation wide with said politicians all in attendance and a folded flag presented to their families.

@Callmewhatyouwill pffff. The point is what his death represents. Not what his life represents.
Though he didn't deserve to be murdered. If it wasn't George Floyd, it would have been another black man the following week.

@Burnley123 why not use Breona Taylor? Look her up if you don't know.

And honestly why has she received so little press?

Certainly she's a much better fit for the narrative.

@PainfulTruth If comparing cops to gangstas (they murder less people) is all you've got then its a pretty crappy argument. I notice you didn't deny your support for the Confederacy so I make you a hypocrite even on the terms of American nationalism. 😎😉

@Callmewhatyouwill Fair enough. She sounds much more worthy. It doesnt alter the politics though.
@Burnley123 not the politics no. At least not by any appreciable amount. But it would give more sympathy to BLM vs their idolizing basically a shit bag long time criminal.

That doesn't mean he deserved to die, but those details will always impact public perception.
