As somebody who is politically agnostic, I get it from both sides.
Generally Republicans summarily write me off on the basis of faith, or the fact I don't support Trump without criticism. But it's not a beleaguered thing.
Many (but not all, of course) Democrats are pretty nasty to me. Even though we might agree on certain issues. Basically for not having ideological purity. For not partaking in the virtue signalling. And for having the audacity to point out that they don't own the turf regarding certain issues.
Conservatives I know feel utterly degraded and dismissed by most American liberals.
