Do you agree with Hillary that she would have done better as president handling Covid?

After all she did so well handling her emails......

My 90yr old grandpa would’ve done better
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Quetzalcoatlus Than Hillary? A bale of hay would do better than she.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@hippyjoe1955 Its a hypothetical question so nobody knows the right answer.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Entwistle I think we do know the answer. If the demoncraps had been in power there would not be a world wide shut down. If you doubt me look at H1N1.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@hippyjoe1955 In that scenario then many more would have died.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Entwistle Impossible to know. We didn't go that way.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@hippyjoe1955 Yet you said "I think we do know the answer".
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Entwistle So you think leaving the economy open would be better than closing it? Finally we agree.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@hippyjoe1955 No I put lives before the economy. We still disagree.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Entwistle So all the people killed by the lockdown??????
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@hippyjoe1955 How so? Name me how they have been killed by lockdown. How many?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Entwistle Thousands of people have had 'elective surgery' postponed. Elective like cancer biopsies, heart surgery, kidney surgery. etc. Many of those effected have died or soon will die because of the delay in their medical treatments. Murder suicides are way up. A young lawyer killed his family then himself when his lost income outpaced his overhead expenses. A couple of people, friends with my children, died from drug over doses. They never used drugs but were bored because they couldn't work. My son had covid and was isolated for 8 weeks because of covid. No kids, no parents, no siblings, no church members. If we hadn't phoned him every day and dropped food off for him he says he would have committed suicide. Yes he was that close.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@hippyjoe1955 Some of those were bad decisions agreed. Now if the lockdown saves 200,000 lives but sadly costs 25,000 which is the lower figure Joe? Which would be your preferred option?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Entwistle Where I live there are 40 covid deaths. 38 of them were very senior citizens with several co morbidities. The average age of death in the general population is 81. The average age of covid death is 83. Compare that to the 8 murders, 22 suicides and 35 drug deaths? Average age of the latter group is 35.

The shutdown democrats were calling for months before Trump did a single damn thing about the virus? H1N1, which killed less than a tenth of the number of people in 18 months as COVID has done in 6?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@OggggO Your history is backward. Remember Nancy in Chinatown? BTW Trump didn't shut any state down. He can't. He is not the governor of any state and only a governor can shut down a state.
OggggO · 36-40, M
@hippyjoe1955 True, he can't shut down states (although that didn't stop him from claiming he could open them back up), but he can direct the federal response to the virus, and he chose to instead sit on his thumb.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@OggggO Such as?????
OggggO · 36-40, M
@hippyjoe1955 Distributing ventilators (which he falsely claimed Obama hadn't left him) to hospitals, introducing legislation to ease the burden on people impacted by the states' shutting down, putting the CDC into action testing and and coordinating state responses, communicating to people how effective steps to keep themselves and their families safe instead of downplaying the danger and casting blame.
