This is why a mask

The coronavirus has mutated into dozens of strains, but new (untested) reserarch indicates one strain above all may be defying odds:
Of the approximately 50,000 genomes of the new virus that researchers worldwide have uploaded to a shared database, about 70 percent carry the mutation, officially designated D614G but known more familiarly to scientists as “G.”

“G”...has taken over the world. Now scientists are racing to figure out what it means.

At least four laboratory experiments suggest that the mutation makes the virus more infectious, although none of that work has been peer-reviewed. Another unpublished study led by scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory asserts that patients with the G variant actually have more virus in their bodies, making them more likely to spread it to others.

The mutation doesn’t appear to make people sicker, but a growing number of scientists worry that it has made the virus more contagious.

Rioting and looting may kill it
Rioters and looters don’t contract Coronavirus. 😂@MarineBob

@DukeOfEarle Pretty much true. Epicenters area all red states right now.
@Graylight Which proves only that it took longer to get there. Try again.

This clearly addresses the issue. 🤦‍♂️

@DukeOfEarle It's useless to argue science to an idjit.

@Northwest Cartoon characters are only capable of a few catchphrases. I anxiously await another of his fascinating stories about hauling shit somewhere 😂

I will try to write this slowly so you can understand. This is a photo of a virologist. Is he wearing a mask? No he is not. He is wearing a full body containment suit. It is the only way to ensure the virologist does not contract the virus or spread it to others. Masks might (and that’s a very MAJOR might) limit the spread but by far are mostly useless. In closing that is not theory, that’s from VIROLOGISTS. 🙄 @Graylight

I understand, you need all the help you can get, to operate a sophisticated piece of technology, like the keyboard.

The mask is not to protect you, it's to protect others from you. The fact is, the only way to drop the R factor below 1, is to wear masks.

Now, trying reading this VERY slowly, so you can absorb it, and try not to get a headache.

@Northwest No, it's all about him. And if you can't afford or find a full-on biohazard suit capable of handling any deadly strain of any virus known to man, then you should take no effort at all to protect yourself or others. There are no degrees in safety and public health, don't you know? Only "Ready for Armageddon" or nothing. Binary isn't just a hobby for these folk - it's a way of life.

By the way, virologists wear protection not only for themselves but to minimize contamination from them. And NO virologists has said "masks are useless."

@Graylight It's mind blowing how some people have no clue how simply it is to drop the R factor below 1, by wearing a mask. Two hairdressers at the same salon in Mississippi were infected. Between the two of them, they had 140 clients. The hairdressers wore masks. Not a single client got infected.

This guy though is very special.
